Sweets that Last Forever

Honey
Raw honey is a food that can last forever if stored properly. While it will crystallize, you can place the jar in a warm water bath to achieve its smooth consistency again. Keep the honey jar free from moisture and air, and it will last indefinitely. While pure, naturally preserved honey will never expire, be sure to store it correctly.
Pure Maple Syrup
Pure maple syrup stored in an airtight glass container can be kept forever. Keep pure maple syrup stored in small glass containers so that if you open one you can store it in the fridge for use.
Corn Syrup
Corn syrup will last indefinitely if stored properly, meaning water, air, and light are kept from spoiling this product. Keep corn syrup in its original container away from light and warmth, and it will last forever.
Sugar
Sugar technically will never spoil due to its resistance to microbial growth. While sugar has an indefinite shelf life, you will most likely rotate through your sugar storage regularly to avoid spoilage, which will take a lifetime.
Proteins that Last Forever

Dried Beans
Dried beans can last forever when stored in air-tight containers. This is a great way to keep a ton of protein in your pantry. There is a huge variety of beans to choose from, and you can stockpile your family’s favorite beans in food-grade buckets.
I stack my dried beans in food-grade buckets in my pantry. They stack up nicely, taking little floor space, and can be placed in a corner. I can stack 4-5 buckets in my pantry.

Pantry Staples that Last Forever

Salt
Salt will last forever in your pantry if stored properly. Using salt to preserve other foods is important; therefore, keeping a well-stocked pantry full of salt is a good idea.
Pure Vanilla Extract
Pure vanilla extract will never expire. This can be used to flavor many recipes when baking, so be sure to never run out of this stuff.
Cornstarch
Cornstarch will last indefinitely and is great for thickening soups, marinades, sauces, and gravies. That said, cornstarch can be stored in large quantities, so do not worry about it spoiling in the pantry when you go to reach for it.
Distilled White Vinegar
Distilled white vinegar will last forever in your pantry, so stock up on this stuff. Vinegar can be used in so many ways, from canning foods, keeping glass clear, cleaning your home, pest control, and so many other helpful uses. Store distilled white vinegar by the gallons in your pantry!
Apple Cider Vinegar
Like distilled white vinegar, keeping apple cider vinegar in your pantry is also helpful and adds more flavor to recipes, and is extremely healthy. Apple cider vinegar will last forever as well, so store it by the gallon in your pantry also!
Baking Soda
Baking soda will last indefinitely and is very useful to keep on hand. Cleaning your home, washing your laundry, using it for pest control, brushing your teeth, and using it for baking are the many ways to use baking soda in your life. Since baking soda is highly useful, store a ton of boxes of baking soda in your pantry in air-tight containers.
TIP: Using a small amount of baking soda in your dishwasher is helpful when you run out of those expensive detergent tablets. Just add a few drops of regular dish detergent and a small amount of baking soda with a small amount of white vinegar, and you can wash your dishes in the dishwasher without the dishwasher foaming with bubbles. I do this occasionally.
Bouillon
Bouillon will last forever in your pantry and can be used to flavor your dishes and sauces. It is especially great for stews, marinades, sauces, dressings, and dips.
Instant Coffee
Instant coffee is great to stockpile in your pantry if you are a coffee lover. Keeping instant coffee in your pantry is a sure way you will have your cup of coffee anytime, even when the power goes out and you cannot brew your morning coffee. Plus, I keep a couple of camping coffee percolators in my pantry for outdoor trips or power outages to ensure I will always have a fresh cup of coffee.
Tea
Tea can last forever in your pantry if stored in air-tight containers. When stockpiling tea, you can be sure to have a comfortable drink at any moment. Chamomile tea is helpful for headaches, upset stomach, and getting a good night’s rest, so I make sure to stockpile chamomile tea in my pantry.
Cocoa
Cocoa will last forever in your pantry and can bring deliciousness to any drinks or recipes you may need. Stockpiling cocoa is a great way to keep chocolate in your pantry forever!
Soy Sauce
Soy sauce will last forever in your pantry and can be used to flavor all of the rice that can be stockpiled in your pantry, too!
Grains that Last Forever

Flour (Wheat Berries)
Flour can be stored in your pantry forever if stored before the grinding process. Keep a flour mill in your pantry to make your own flour, as wheat berries are easy to purchase in bulk and can last indefinitely.
Rice
Rice will last forever in your pantry when stored properly. Storing rice is smart because it is a great survival food that can feed a lot of people and is versatile in so many recipes like casseroles, bread, rice milk, pudding, and so much more.
Dried Corn
Storing dried corn in your pantry is a great source of grain that will last forever. The dried corn can be milled for flour or cooked in recipes.
Dried Pasta (Including Ramen Noodles)
Storing dried pasta in your pantry is a great way to stockpile grains. Dried pasta will last forever if stored in its original packaging and kept in air-tight containers like plastic totes or food-grade 5-gallon buckets.

My teens love snacking on ramen noodles, so as you can see, I keep a stockpile of them! While I understand these are not the healthiest foods, they are amazing to keep stockpiled in your pantry without the worry of them going bad.

Dried Potato Flakes
Potato flakes will last forever in your pantry. It is the best way to stockpile potatoes for your survival pantry in air-tight containers. Potato flakes can be rehydrated by adding them to water for instant mashed potatoes or potato soup, or potato bread.
Dried Oats
Oats will last forever in your pantry, so be sure to stockpile as many oats as possible. Oats are great for breakfast casseroles, bread, oat milk, muffins, cookies, and, of course, oatmeal.

Hardtack Survival Biscuits
Hardtack survival biscuits are a food that will last forever in your pantry. Having hardtack survival biscuits in your pantry is a great way to ensure you and your family will have some sort of bread in an emergency. Hardtack biscuits are not the tastiest, though they will help keep you alive in an emergency. Hardtack biscuits were taken along on long journeys hundreds of years ago and kept in sacks by cowboys, soldiers, sailors, and pioneers.
It was even used by the Hobbits in the Lord of the Rings movies to help feed them on their long journey until it was tossed over the cliff by the evil Gollum. I have a fun recipe for you to try for your next adventure! How to Make Elven Lembas Bread: A Taste of Rivendell.

Other Foods that Last Forever

Alcohol
Alcohol will last forever in your pantry and is useful for preserving herbs grown in your garden to make healthy tinctures.
Home Canned Goods
Home-canned goods will last forever in your pantry. I have known people in their 90s still eating from their pantry when they preserved their food years ago, when they were younger. Canning your own food is a great way to stockpile your pantry and feed your family and yourself healthy foods even years later.
I used to know an old man who was almost 100 years old and was still eating homemade foods his late wife had made for him years after she had passed away. It made him happy and smile every time he opened a new can of a recipe she had canned for him years ago, and she still has been feeding him well after she passed away.

Ghee
Ghee is clarified butter that will last forever in your pantry when it has been home-canned. It can be used the same as any butter and is a healthy option for those who are lactose intolerant since the dairy fats of the butter have been removed.
Dehydrated or Freeze-Dried Fruits and Vegetables
Dehydrated or freeze-dried fruits and vegetables will last forever when stored in air-tight Mylar bags. They can be rehydrated to serve in meals. Dried fruit is perfect to add to oatmeal as it will reconstitute during the heating process.
MRE Meals
Stockpiling MRE meals in your pantry is a great way to feed your family in any emergency, and they will last forever in your pantry. The great thing about MRE meals is that in a power outage, you can serve your family a hot meal since MRE meals can be heated with their built-in technology, per the Military.
