Equipment

  • 1 Dutch oven.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef.
  • 1 small diced onion.
  • 1 10.5 oz can cream of mushroom soup.
  • 1 16 oz pkg frozen tater tots.
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese.
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce.
  • 1 tsp salt.
  • ΒΌ tsp pepper.

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven and Dutch oven to 350 degrees.
  • Remove Dutch oven from your oven and add ground beef, onion, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix well. (This is a one-pot meal! The goal is to avoid using up as many dishes as possible while making this!)
  • Place the lid on the Dutch oven and place it back into the oven to brown the ground beef and onion, stirring occasionally for 10 minutes or until browned.
  • Remove from your Dutch oven and carefully drain the fat. TIP! Because my Dutch oven is cast iron and heavy and extremely hot at this point, I use a turkey baster to suck up the fat, which makes it safer and easier for me.
  • Stir in cream of mushroom soup, salt, and pepper.
  • Layer tater tots evenly on top and sprinkle with cheddar cheese.
  • Place the Dutch oven back into the oven with the lid on and bake for 20 minutes, then remove the lid and bake for another 20 minutes, (40 minutes total).
  • Serve and enjoy!
