  • 2 mixing bowls.
  • 1 cooking pot for the caramel sauce.

Ingredients

Candy Apple Bread

  • ¾ cup white sugar.
  • 2 cups flour.
  • 1 ½ tsp cinnamon.
  • 1 tsp baking powder.
  • ½ tsp baking soda.
  • 1 tsp salt.
  • 2 cups peeled, cored, and diced apples.
  • 2 large eggs.
  • ½ cup vegetable oil.
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract.

Caramel Sauce

  • 1 cup brown sugar.
  • ½ cup unsalted butter.
  • ¼ cup milk.
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract.

Instructions

Candy Apple Bread

  • Preheat your oven and grease your loaf pan.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
  • In another bowl, beat the eggs and combine them with the melted butter or oil, and vanilla extract.
  • Peel, core, and chop the apples into small cubes or thin slices.
  • Gently fold the chopped apples into the dry ingredient mixture, ensuring they are evenly distributed.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix.

Baking Instructions

  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
  • Bake the bread in the preheated oven for approximately 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Once baked, remove the bread from the oven and allow it to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes.
  • Carefully remove the bread from the pan and let it cool completely on a wire rack.

Caramel Topping

  • Combine 1 cup of packed brown sugar and ½ cup of unsalted butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
  • Stir the mixture continuously until the butter melts and the sugar fully dissolves.
  • Next, slowly add ¼ cup of milk, stirring until the mixture is smooth and creamy. For an extra layer of flavor, you can optionally add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
  • Allow the caramel to simmer for a few minutes until it thickens slightly, then pour it generously over your freshly baked bread for a sweet, decadent finish.
  • Sprinke with colorful sprinkles and chopped nuts.
  • Enjoy!
